WHAT WE DO

A patch of unruly honeysuckle makes our hearts skip a beat.  The gnarled and thorny stems of garden roses call to us despite the guaranteed hand scratches.  We also have great respect for the clean lines of calla lilies and the simplicity of a single blooming succulent.  

Hello, my name is Stephanie Hamilton, and I am the creative director and founder of Uncommon Arrangement.  I’ve been a floral designer for over 20 years.  When a retail floral shop in our Midwest town was offered for sale, I bought it.  Country Gardens became The Wild Geranium. Thanks to a talented staff of designers, creative and loyal employees, the business became popular and profitable.  I am forever grateful for their patience, teaching and friendships.  My formal education began at floral design school in Kansas City.  I fell in love with European hand-tied bouquets and traveled across the pond to experience their flower markets and design styles.  I eventually sold the Wild Geranium and moved to northern New Mexico where my focus is creating beautiful and memorable florals for events.  

Uncommon Arrangement is a boutique floral design studio based in Santa Fe NM.  My design style has evolved to a nature-inspired, less structured style that resonates with the values and culture of Santa Fe. The sense of place, pure air and sunshine inspire me to see beauty in all seasons, life cycles and forms.  A deep pink rosebud transforms into a glorious soft pink as it fully opens; then tips its head and, one by one, drops its petals.  A bulging rose hip remains.  Beauty in the life cycle of a rose. 

I have a passion for my clients.  Their stories, ideas and dreams become personal to me.  Our thoughts are the most powerful tools we have.
